Dr. Bruce Northam - Senior Pastor

In our text Jesus approaches His final farewell, trying to prepare His disciples for the days ahead. He had just explained the working of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter that was to come. He would be a prosecutor, convicting the world of unbelief and unrighteousness, and would bring the world to judgment (7-11). He would also serve as their guide into all truth (12-15). He would be in them, not with them! Jesus prepares His disciples for the crucifixion and persecution and promises to send the Spirit who will teach and testify about what He has said, but before the Spirit can do all this, a separation must be experienced.
